Fiber: the revolution in homeworking

Whether you work from home on an occasional or permanent basis, teleworking can be a real headache if you are not properly equipped. Here are a few tips on how to do this easily.

Fiber: the revolution in homeworking

Tip 1. A fast and above all reliable internet connection

Working from home as if you were at the office is possible and even essential! Bug-free videoconferencing and transferring large files requires a stable, fast and high-performance connection, especially if all members of your family are connected at the same time.

Tip 2. A separate office and dedicated equipment

Even if the idea of working from your bed or sofa can make you dream, it also has its downsides! Backache, attention problems, and untimely disturbances can cause a drop in your productivity. It is therefore necessary to have a dedicated and comfortable space to work efficiently.

In terms of hardware, think about the quality of your screen (the best being a 4K screen which, thanks to its high definition, allows you to display more elements than a Full HD screen). You can also connect your TV to your computer to get a second screen.

During your workday, if you move from one computer to another, use Dropbox, iCloud or other online services to synchronize your files. You will be efficient wherever you are!

To spare your back, don't hesitate to invest in a good office chair. This is an important point. Don't underestimate it! As an extra tip, working standing up from time to time can save you a few aches and pains.

Tip 3. A routine with fixed hours

Equipped with a high-performance internet connection and a dedicated office, you are ready to work from home. It's tempting to work in pyjama and minimize breaks to save time, but you risk paying for it. Fixed schedules and breaks are essential for your balance because, away from your colleagues, you will tend to do more than you normally would.

Listening to music through speakers, having fun playing online games for a while, doing sports on your connected bike, these are all precious moments not to be neglected. Is it chaos at home? Has the noise become unbearable? Go for a noise-cancelling headset to stay focused.

Teleworking is likely to accelerate the deployment of fiber

Because it offers a very high speed, a stable connection everywhere in your home, no matter how many people are connected, and meets your ever-growing needs; fiber is the current champion of all technologies.
