Starting from September 30, 2024, Flemish channels will display the GoedGezien age and content symbols. They will inform you about potentially harmful content. For this, we use the GoedGezien recommendation for young people, parents, and guardians.
This is a requirement arising from the European Directive on Audiovisual Media Services. In consultation with Flemish broadcasters, service providers, and various experts, the Department of Culture, Youth, and Media of the Flemish Government is implementing a uniform classification system for audiovisual media, called GoedGezien.
The GoedGezien classification system and symbols were developed in consultation with the various television channels.
At the beginning of a program, GoedGezien age and content symbols appear on the screen. The goal is to warn viewers about potentially harmful content in television programs. Learn here what they mean

The age classification and, where applicable, the content classifications do not refer to the suitability of television programs for minors, but rather to potential harm. This means that only the potential negative impact of the content on the physical, mental, or moral development of children is assessed. The classification system does not judge whether the program is appropriate for children—in other words, whether the content of the program is understandable, appealing, and suitable for a certain age, or even whether the content stimulates certain positive aspects of the physical, mental, or moral development of children. For example, a film might be too difficult for a six-year-old child but not harmful. In such a case, the age classification 6+ would not be displayed; instead, the AL classification would be shown.
